The competition is now closed. The Academy reserves the right to approve or deny an extension request, as well as determine its length if granted. Any submission presented after the deadline will be subject to an additional fee of US$50 per submission.

The International Emmy® Awards


The International Emmy Awards (for broadcast programs and performers) will accept submissions beginning December 6, 2011. Deadline for submission is February 15, 2012. Please click the Rules & Regulations button below for all entry requirements and to access the on-line entry form.

Extension Requests
The Academy reserves the right to approve or deny an extension request, as well as determine its length if granted. Any submission presented after the deadline will be subject to an additional fee of US$50 per submission.

Performance Categories

  • Best Performance by an Actor
  • Best Performance by an Actress

Kids Categories

  • Kids: Preschool
  • Kids: Animation
  • Kids: Factual
  • Kids: Non-Scripted Entertainment
  • Kids: Series
  • Kids: TV Movie/Mini-Series

Digital Categories

  • Digital Program: Children & Young People
  • Digital Program: Fiction

Award Cycles

The 2012 International Emmy Awards competition opened on December 6, 2011. Deadline for submission was February 15, 2012. The 2012 International Emmy Awards Gala takes place in November in New York City.



Kids Categories
Entries into the kids competition will run concurrently with The International Emmy Awards competition.
Deadline for submission was February 15, 2012, as above. The inaugural awards ceremony is scheduled for February 2013 in New York City.



Digital Categories
Currently, the Digital categories (Digital Program: Children & Young People, Digital Program: Fiction, and Digital Program: Non-Fiction) run on a different cycle to other award categories. Entry periods vary each year. To check on competition entry times, click here. Entry deadline into the 2012 Digital Emmy Awards competition was November 3, 2011.

The International
Emmy® KIDS Awards

On December 5th, 2011, The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences launched The International Emmy® Kids Awards, a new competition and stand-alone ceremony, solely dedicated to recognizing excellence in children’s television programming produced and initially aired outside of the United States.

Six new categories have been created for this event:
  • Kids: Preschool
  • Kids: Animation
  • Kids: Factual
  • Kids: Non-Scripted Entertainment
  • Kids: Series
  • Kids: TV Movie/Mini-Series

The inaugural awards ceremony is scheduled for February 2013 in New York City. Entries into the kids competition will run concurrently with The International Emmy Awards competition which opened December 6th and closes February 15th, 2012.
