Founded in 1969, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is a
membership based organization comprised of leading media and
entertainment figures from over 50 countries and 500 companies from all
sectors of television including internet, mobile and technology. The Academy was chartered with a mission to recognize excellence in television programming produced outside of the United States, and it presents the International Emmy® Award to programs in twenty categories.
The Academy is a unique, independent organization comprised of the world's television and media leaders who come together to exchange ideas, discuss common issues and promote new strategies for the future development of quality global television programming. Each year, the Academy produces the International Emmy World Television Festival and the International Emmy Awards Gala in New York City. The Festival features programming from around the world, and presentations and panels from international producers and directors. The International Emmy Awards Gala attracts over 1,000 international figures in broadcast, entertainment and media.
Members can attend all Board Meetings, panels, and cocktails that the Academy holds worldwide. All members are given two (2) complimentary passes to the International Emmy World Television Festival, which takes place the weekend before the International Emmy Awards Gala in New York. Members are also invited to International Academy Day, which is a prestigious gathering of television industry executives in a specific country with the mission to create, develop and organize a meaningful and unprecedented event for the television industry in the region and foster a better understanding of regional business models and cultural institutions to help facilitate cross border collaboration.View list of upcoming Academy EventsView Photos from Member EventsFind out more about Academy DayFind out more about the International Emmy® World Television Festival
