Judging Process<\/h1>\n

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is proud of its strict judging guidelines which ensure the integrity of the International Emmy Awards competition. Every year, our judging department carefully selects and approves over 1,000 independent jurors from around the world for its three rounds of judging.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Step-By-Step Guide to the Entry & Judging Process<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Enter The Competition <\/strong>[December to January]
    \nBetween December and February entrants submit their entries via the online entry portal.

  2. First Round Of Judging <\/strong>[April to May]
    \nThe First Round of Judging takes place online from April to May.<\/li>\n
  3. Semi-Final Round of Judging<\/strong> [June to August]
    \nThe Semi-Final Round of Judging takes place from June to August at live screening events held all over the world, hosted by members of the Academy. Ernst & Young tabulates ballots to determine four nominees in each category.<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. Nominees Announ<\/strong>ced<\/strong>
    \n    International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Awards<\/a> Nominees will be announced in September.<\/li>\n
  5. Final Round Of Judging<\/strong>
    \nThe Final Round of Judging is conducted at different times throughout the year according to the Awards Ceremony that the Category belongs to. Ernst & Young tabulate ballots to determine the winner of each category.<\/em><\/li>\n
  6. Winners Announced<\/strong>
    \n    International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Awards<\/a> Winners will be announced at the International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Awards Gala on November 23, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>

    Become a Juror<\/h2>\n

    Thank you to the overwhelming number of applicants who expressed interest in participating as Jurors. Selected candidates for the 2026 Preliminary Round of Judging will be notified in April. All applications will remain under consideration for future participation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    More than 1,000 television professionals are selected by the Academy\u2019s Judging Department each year to serve as Jurors for the International Emmy\u00ae Awards. Jury panels represent current trends in world television programming as well as a wide range of industry professionals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.<\/p>\n

    Become a Juror<\/h2>\n

Jury panels represent current trends in world television programming as well as a wide range of industry professionals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.<\/p>\n

    Jurors should have at least five (5) years professional experience in television, which may include producing, directing, writing, acquisitions, acting, casting, distribution and editing.<\/p>\n

    All programs will be subtitled in English. Therefore, all applicants must be fluent in the English language.<\/p>\n

    Become a Semi-Final Round of Judging Host<\/h2>\n

    Every summer, from June to August, the Academy travels to over 30 judging sites for Semi-Final Judging events. These events are hosted by Academy Members and determine the International Emmy Award Nominees for the year. Semi-Final rounds are not only a crucial step in the judging process, but also a great networking opportunity for the Host and the Academy approved Jurors. Depending on the Host, events range from small, one day events to large gatherings over two days with dinners, cocktails and cultural visits added on to the judging panels.<\/p>\n
