Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman to be Honored for her Trailblazing Career at 53rd International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Awards Gala, in New York, on November 24<\/em><\/p>\n

New York, August 11, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today that Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment Dana Walden will receive the 2025 International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Founders Award in honor of her transformative impact on the media and entertainment industry, and the incredible global impact of the shows she has overseen. She will receive this prestigious award at the 53rd International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Awards Gala on Monday, Nov. 24, in New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDana Walden\u2019s contributions to entertainment are truly remarkable, having shaped the creation and success of numerous iconic and award-winning television series,” said International Academy President & CEO Bruce L. Paisner. \u201cHer leadership, first as CEO of Fox Television Group and now as Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, has played a pivotal role in influencing the global industry. We are delighted to recognize her exceptional work and lasting impacts with the Founders Award.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an extraordinary privilege to be recognized by the International Academy,\u201d said Walden. \u201cI\u2019ve worked with some of the most talented creators and executives in the world \u2013 people who care deeply about storytelling and its power to connect audiences across the globe. This recognition reflects their passion and dedication, and I am very proud of what we\u2019ve accomplished together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walden oversees The Walt Disney Company\u2019s full portfolio of entertainment media, news and content businesses globally, including shared oversight of Disney+ and Hulu, as well as technology and ad sales. Under her leadership, Disney+ now operates in more than 150 countries and 40 languages. In 2024, The Walt Disney Company received 60 Emmy\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Awards, breaking the record for the most wins in a year by a single company.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Disney, Walden was CEO of Fox Television Group, where she led Fox Broadcasting Company from fourth place to first. Over the course of her career, Walden has overseen the production and development of several history-making series and franchises, including \u201c24,\u201d \u201cAbbott Elementary,\u201d \u201cThe Americans,\u201d \u201cAmerican Horror Story,\u201d \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d \u201cThe Bear,\u201d \u201cDancing with the Stars,\u201d \u201cFamily Guy,\u201d \u201cGlee,\u201d \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy,\u201d \u201cHomeland,\u201d \u201cThe Kardashians,\u201d \u201cModern Family,\u201d \u201cOnly Murders in the Building,\u201d \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians,\u201d \u201cSh\u014dgun,\u201d \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d and \u201cThis Is Us,\u201d among many others.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Past recipients of the International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Founders Award include Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, J.J. Abrams, Jesse Armstrong, Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy and David E. Kelley, among many others. Walden will accept the special Emmy in New York City on Monday, Nov. 24, at the International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup> Awards black-tie gala.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Gala partners are: Ay Yapim, CJ ENM, Dubai Studios, Ernst & Young, Globo, Mediafellows, Miptv, Plural, Sofitel and Variety.<\/p>\n
