Dustin Hoffman & German Actress Christiane Paul Win Best Performance Categories<\/strong><\/h2>\n


\n<\/strong>NEW YORK, November 21, 2016 –<\/strong> The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the 44th International Emmy\u00ae Awards tonight at a Black-Tie Gala event attended by television professionals from around the world and hosted by Alan Cumming at the New York Hilton.<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

2 Special Awards and 10 Emmy statues were presented by the International Academy during the evening.<\/p>\n

German and British programs led the night with 3 Emmys each in the Best Performance by An Actress, Documentary and Drama Series categories for German programs and Best Performance by An Actor, Comedy and TV Movie\/ Mini-Series categories for British programs.<\/p>\n

Programs from Brazil (Telenovela), Japan (Arts Programming), Sweden (Non-Scripted Entertainment) and the United States (Non-English Language US Primetime Program), each won one Emmy.<\/p>\n

Danish actress Birgitte Hjort Sorenson, star of political drama Borgen<\/em>, presented the International Emmy Directorate Award to Maria R\u00f8rbye R\u00f8nn<\/strong>, Chief Executive Officer & Director General of Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), which pioneered and drove the success of Nordic Noir drama around the world.<\/p>\n

Actor, director, producer Tony Goldwyn, currently starring as President Fitzgerald Grant in Scandal presented the International Emmy Founders Award to Shonda Rhimes<\/strong>, Writer, Executive Producer and Creator behind global hit series Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Private Practice, How to Get Away with Murder<\/em> and The Catch. <\/em><\/p>\n

The 10 International Emmy Award Winning programs and performances are: The Man Who Shot Hiroshima (Arts Programming), Dustin Hoffman (Best Performance by an Actor), Christiane Paul (Best Performance by an Actress), Hoff The Record <\/em>(Comedy), War of Lies<\/em> (Documentary), Deutschland 83<\/em> (Drama Series), Francisco, El Jesuita<\/em> (Francis, the Jesuit) (Non-English Language US Primetime Program), The Great Swedish Adventure<\/em> (Non-Scripted Entertainment), Hidden Truths <\/em>(Telenovela), and Capital<\/em> (TV Movie\/Mini-Series).
