New York, September 21, 2016<\/strong> –\u00a0The 2016 International Emmy for News was presented tonight to\u00a0Sky News\u00a0Migration Crisis (United Kingdom). The Emmy for current affairs was presented to\u00a0Dispatches-Escape from Isis.\u00a0(United Kingdom).\u00a0The International Emmys were presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in conjunction with the US News Emmys during a ceremony which took place\u00a0at Lincoln Center, in New York City.<\/p>\n

Sky News Migration Crisis\u00a0produced by Sky News,\u00a0won\u00a0the News category.\u00a0This\u00a0story\u00a0covers the perilous journey of a group of migrants from Turkey to Greece, with exclusive insight from the Sky crew live on the Hungary-Serbia border as refugees and riot police clash.<\/p>\n

Dispatches-Escape from Isis\u00a0produced by\u00a0ITN Productions\/ Ronachan Films \/ Evan Williams Productions \/ Mediadante\u00a0won the Current Affairs category. This\u00a0special exposed the brutal treatment of the estimated 4 million women living under the rule of the Islamic State and\u00a0shows the extraordinary courage of an underground network trying to save women and children held as slaves by ISIS.<\/p>\n

The International Academy will announce the Nominees for 10 other program categories on September 26 and its 7 Kid’s categories at Mipcom, in Cannes, France on October 17.<\/p>\n

Winners for Arts Programming;\u00a0Best Performance by an Actress; Best Performance by an Actor; Comedy; Documentary; Drama Series; Non-English Language US Primetime Program; Non-Scripted Entertainment; Telenovela and TV Movie\/Mini-Series\u00a0will receive their awards at the 44th International Emmy Awards Gala, at the Hilton Hotel in New York City, on Monday, November 21.<\/p>\n
