\n<\/b><\/span>New York, August 13, 2012<\/strong> – Ricardo B. Salinas, Founder & Chairman of Mexico’s Azteca television network and a Director of the International Academy, will serve as Gala Chair for the 40th International Emmy Awards Gala, which will take place Monday, November 19th, in New York City, announced Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.<\/p>\n

\nMr. Salinas will preside at the Gala and welcome guests at the beginning of the program. During the Gala, the International Academy will present Emmys in nine program categories as well as two special awards. Glee Creator Ryan Murphy, will receive the 2012 International Emmy Founders Award while Korean Broadcasting System President & CEO, Dr. Kim In-Kyu, will receive the 2012 International Emmy Directorate Award. A special event to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the International Emmy Awards will be announced this Fall.

\nThe Opening Reception for the International Emmy World Television Festival will be hosted by Mr. Salinas and Azteca and will take place at the newly remodeled New York Historical Society building at Central Park West and 77th Street.

\nAzteca controls two national networks, Azteca 7 and Azteca 13; the cultural channel Proyecto 40; Azteca International and Azteca America, which serves the U.S. Hispanic community since 2001. Azteca America currently has local affiliated stations in over 79 cities in which 91% of the U.S. Latino population resides. \nThe 2012 International Emmy\u00ae Nominees will be announced at a press conference in Cannes, at Mipcom on Monday, October 8, 2012. \nThe International Emmy World Television Festival Opening Cocktail, hosted by Azteca, will take place Friday, November 16th at The New York Historical Society. The Festival which takes place at the NY Sofitel Hotel, will run from Saturday, November 17th to Sunday, November 18th.<\/span><\/div>\n
