First Time Emmy\u00ae Nominations in Digital Categories

\nAwards Ceremony on \u00a0April 12, 2010<\/p>\n

PARIS\/NEW YORK, March 1st, \u00a02010<\/strong> \u00a0– Nominees from 7 countries will \u00a0compete for this year’s International Digital Emmy\u00ae Awards, it \u00a0was announced today by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.\u00a0The \u00a0Emmys will be presented at a special ceremony hosted by film \u00a0& television actress\/producer Illeana Douglas on Monday, \u00a0April 12, at MIPTV in Cannes.<\/p>\n

There are 13 nominees in 3 categories, Digital Program: \u00a0Children & Young People; Digital Program: Fiction and \u00a0Digital Program: Non-Fiction. The full list of Nominees from \u00a0Brazil, Canada, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and \u00a0the United Kingdom follows this \u00a0release.<\/p>\n

This \u00a0is the first time that Brazil, Hong Kong and New Zealand are \u00a0nominated for an Emmy in the Digital Categories.<\/p>\n

“The 2010 nominees showcase global excellence in \u00a0programming on digital platforms and we congratulate them for \u00a0their outstanding achievements,” said Bruce L. Paisner, \u00a0President & CEO of The International Academy.<\/p>\n

In addition to the presentation of the International Digital Emmy\u00ae Awards for the \u00a0three categories, The International Academy will present a \u00a0special award – the Pioneer Prize, which is not an Emmy\u00ae but rather a special initiative from the Academy which honours an industry \u00a0personality or organization. The Pioneer Prize will be presented to Heroes\u00a0Creator \u00a0& Executive Producer Tim Kring, for his contribution to \u00a0the fields of digital television and cross-platform entertainment with Heroes \u00a0Evolutions.<\/p>\n
