BARBARA WALTERS TO PRESENT 2009 INTERNATIONAL EMMY\u00ae FOUNDERS AWARD TO SIR DAVID FROST<\/span><\/h1>\n

New York, NY, October 27, 2009<\/strong> \u2013 Barbara Walters,\u00a0world renowned journalist whose TV career\u00a0began over\u00a03 decades ago, will be presenting the Founders Award to Sir David Frost at The 37th International Emmy Awards Gala on November 23rd 2009, in New York City announced Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\u201cDavid Frost’s career started in the United Kingdom around the time Barbara Walters was\u00a0starting hers, in the United States,\u201d said Paisner. \u201cThe International Academy is delighted to\u00a0bring Ms. Walters\u00a0to\u00a0our stage\u00a0to lead this tribute to Sir David.\u201d <\/p>\n

Ms. Walters began her career on NBC\u2019s Today show as a writer, and within a year became a reporter-at-large, developing, writing and editing her own reports and interviews.\u00a0 Since then, she has interviewed some of the world\u2019s most prominent leaders, including every American President and First Lady since Richard Nixon, including President and Mrs. Barack Obama.\u00a0 Today, Ms. Walters\u2019 remains a co-owner, co-executive producer and co-host of The View, recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy Award for \u201cOutstanding Talk Show.\u201d\u00a0Ms. Walters\u00a0recently received\u00a0the 2009\u00a0Lifetime Achievement Award at The News & Docs\u00a0Emmys, presented by The National Academy of Television. <\/p>\n
