New York, September 23, 2022 \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0TV Globo Network Head, Amauri Soares, will serve as Gala Chair for the 50th International Emmy\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Awards, which will take place on Monday, November 21, 2022 in New York City, it was announced today by International Academy President & CEO, Bruce Paisner. In his current role, Soares leads Brazil\u2019s behemoth No.1 free-to-air TV network which reaches 99.6% of Brazilian homes.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Soares will preside over the Gala, during which the International Academy will recognize programming in fifteen program categories and as previously announced, will present Special Awards to Ava DuVernay and Miky Lee. Acclaimed Film & TV director, writer and producer Ava DuVernay will receive the International Emmy\u00ae Founders Award. Miky Lee, Vice Chairwoman of CJ Group, and founder of CJENM, Korea\u2019s foremost film and television studio will receive the International Emmy\u00ae Directorate Award.<\/div>\n

\u201cAmauri has been an integral part of Globo\u2019s news and programming divisions and overall strategic growth of the group in Brazil and around the world for 35 years.\u201d said Bruce Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. \u201cHe is an outstanding journalist, broadcaster and executive who has made many contributions to the International Academy, and we\u2019re proud to have him as our 2022 Gala Chair.\u201d<\/div>\n
