7 First Ever Emmy Nomination for Israel’s i24NEWS and First Current Affairs Nomination for Sweden’s SVT


New York, August 7, 2017 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced the nominees for the 2017 News & Current Affairs categories. Winners will be announced in New York on October 5, at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The International Emmy winners will be recognized alongside their American news and documentary peers.

The 8 Nominees span 6 countries on 3 continents. The countries are: Brazil, Israel, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Israeli network i24NEWS has garnered its first ever Emmy nomination in the News category for its French language coverage of the Republican National Convention. Swedish Public Broadcaster, SVT scored its first nomination in the Current Affairs category for an investigation into the Panama Papers. Additionally, Brazil’s TV Globo is nominated in both categories.

La Academia Internacional Crea Una Nueva Categoria Para 2008: Telenovela

Nueva-York, 7 de Enero de 2008 - A partir de 2008, las Telenovelas podrán competir en su propia categoría, para la obtención de un premio Emmy Internacional.
La Academia Internacional de Artes & Ciencias de Televisión anuncio hoy la creación de una nueva categoría de premio Emmy, que reconozca  lo mejor en Telenovelas producidas y  difundidas al origen fuera de Estados Unidos. El primer premio Internacional Emmy para Telenovela será presentado durante el 36 Gala Internacional de los premios Emmy, el lunes 24 de noviembre de 2008 en la ciudad de Nueva-York.
La información necesaria para inscribirse en esta categoría figura en las condiciones y reglamentos de los Premios Internacionales Emmy para el a ñ o 2008, que podrán encontrar en el sitio Web de la Academia: http://www.iemmys.tv/awards_entry.aspx.
"El genero de Telenovela se ha transformado en un fenómeno universal, lo que ha inspirado muchos éxitos en Europa, Asia, América del Norte, y  igualmente  América Latina", declaro el Sr. Bruce L.
