  • What Am I Voting on?
    A unique 1 Minute Video on the theme "Stand Up For Peace" created by young creatives aged 18-29 from across the globe (38 Countries represented)

  • When Can I Vote?  
    Online Public Voting is Open September 12 - 19, 2018 (Closes September 19 at 12:00pm Noon EST)

  • How Many Times Can I Vote?
    A person can Vote only once for any given Entry. However, they can Vote for multiple different Entries





What Happens Next?
 

The twenty (20) videos (One (1) per individual participants) with the most Votes on the judging portal will move on to the Final round, along with three videos selected by the Academy.  During the Final Round a panel of jurors will score the videos based on the original story illustrating the theme of the year "Stand Up For Peace"; characters and how they are developed; creativity; and knowledge of craft.
 
The three Winners will be announced October 3. Winners will win a trip to New York this November to attend the International Emmy® World Television Festival where they will receive the JCS International Young Creatives Award alongside the official International Emmy® Nominees. They will also attend the 46th International Emmy® Awards Gala and experience a series of cultural and entertainment events.







About the JCS International Young Creatives Award Competition


The JCS International Young Creatives Award was designed to discover, recognize and foster young talent from around the world while creating a global conversation around Peace.


• What to submit: A unique 1 minute video on the theme of the year. The theme for 2018 is "Stand Up For Peace".

• Open to: Non-American citizens aged 18 to 29 years old (dual citizens are eligible)

• Competition opens:  June 15, 2018 at 12 Noon EST


• Competition deadline: September 7, 2018 at 12 Noon EST

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


How should I interpret the theme? Does it need to be in a specific style or genre?

The theme of the year, "Stand Up For Peace" can be freely interpreted. The creative content of the video and how it relates to the theme has no limit but your imagination, as long as it's your original work. Every creative will have their own point of view, and you should of course interpret the theme however you want. Any genre (fiction, non-fiction, animation etc.) is encouraged.

How much does it cost to enter?
There is no cost to enter - feel free to enter multiple videos!

What if my video not exactly 60 seconds, will it still be considered?
The video needs to be exactly 60 seconds long, not one second less and not one second more.

Can I submit a video with dialogue in a language that is not English?
Absolutely! However, if you do, you are required to include English subtitles in order to be eligible.

Can I shoot this on my phone?

Yes, feel free to shoot your video using any type of camera/device you wish.

Can I work with my friends or production team?
Collaborate with as many people as you want! Please note that if you win, you will need to designate one person from the team to represent the group on the trip to New York City. This one person will be credited on all materials and releases from the Academy.


How are the winners chosen?

The judging process is as follows: videos will be presented on the competition portal, where the public (your friends & family included!) can watch them and vote for their favorites From September 15-September 25. The videos with the most votes will move on to the final round, where a panel of judges will score the videos based on the interpretation of the theme "Women Peacemakers" on the following criteria: concept; execution, character development and creativity.


I'm American, but hold dual citizenship with a second country - can I still enter?

Yes, dual citizens are eligible for the competition.

The Winners Experience

From rubbing elbows with the top television producers from around the world at the International Emmy® World Television Festival, to walking the Red Carpet at the 46th International Emmy® Awards Gala, your time in New York, hosted by JCS International, will be the trip of the lifetime!

  • Receive your award at the International Emmy® World Television Festival
    Winners will be presented with their award at the International Emmy® World Television Festival alongside the 2018 International Emmy® Award Nominees. During the weekend festival you will have the opportunity to watch nominee panels and screenings.

  • Participate in a full line up of professional and cultural activities hosted by JCS International

  • Attend the 46th International Emmy® Awards Gala
    Your winners experience will culminate Monday night at the International Emmy® Awards Gala with photos on the Red Carpet and a black-tie VIP evening in celebration of excellence in television from around the world. You'll be in the room with the top industry players, including Greg Berlanti and Sophie Turner Laing, who will be honored with the 2018 International Emmy® Founders and Directorate Awards.
