BRUCE PAISNER, INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY PRESIDENT & CEO, RE-ELECTED FOR A FOURTH TERM

NEW YORK, November 23, 2009 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today that the Board of Directors re-elected its President & CEO, Bruce Paisner, for a two year term. Paisner has been at the helm of The International Academy since January 2004. His new term starts January 1, 2010.

The election was held on November 23, a few hours before the 37th International Emmy® Awards Gala during which Sir David Frost, one of the preeminent television figures of the 20th century will be presented with the International Emmy® Founders Award and Markus Schächter, Director General ZDF will be presented with the International Emmy® Directorate Award.

 “I am mindful of the fact that it is a great honor to be asked by my industry colleagues to serve a fourth term as President & CEO of The International Academy,” said Paisner. This is a great organization and it continues to grow in stature and visibility around the world. We are very proud of our Emmy competition and of the activities we organize for our members who hail from over 50 countries.”

Paisner is a long-term executive at Hearst Corporation. He now serves as advisor to the CEO of Hearst and supervises Hearst’s Cosmopolitan-TV networks in Spain, Latin America and Canada.

After he was re-elected, Paisner re-appointed Fred Cohen as Chairman of the organization.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is a membership based organization comprised of leading media and entertainment figures from over 50 countries and 500 companies from all sectors of television including internet, mobile and technology.
