JANA BENNETT, DIRECTOR OF BBC VISION, JOINS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES

NEW YORK, February 16, 2010 – Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced that Jana Bennett, Director of BBC Vision has been appointed to The Academy’s Executive Committee. As Director of BBC Vision, Bennett heads the BBC Television channels and leads the program commissioning teams.

“I am personally so delighted that Jana Bennett is joining our Executive Committee,” said Paisner. “Her creative and business savvy, across all sectors of our industry, will be a great asset to The Academy”.

Jana Bennett is in charge of BBC Television: BBC One, Two, Three, Four, HD and the Children’s services, CBBC and CBeebies. She sets the budget, commissioning and program priorities across all the channels. In addition, she oversees the groups that commission and produce drama, comedy, entertainment and factual programs, including digital media for online content. Jana also heads BBC Films, a leading funder of the film industry in Britain. In addition, she has overall responsibility for BBC Archive Content and editorial management of UKTV and BBC America.

HEROES CREATOR & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER TIM KRING TO RECEIVE PIONEER PRIZE AT INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL EMMY® AWARDS AT MIPTV 2010 AND TO DELIVER KEYNOTE

PARIS/NEW YORK, February 1, 2010 – Tim Kring, the creator and executive producer of the worldwide phenomenon Heroes, is set to receive the 2010 Pioneer Prize at the International Digital Emmy® Awards, which take place on Monday, April 12, during MIPTV.
 
Heroes’ multiplatform experience Heroes Evolutions, extended the show’s storylines through mobile participation, games and graphic novels. In addition to receiving the Pioneer Prize, Kring will make a keynote address to conference delegates on the opening day of MIPTV, the world’s entertainment content market.

As in previous years, the International Digital Emmy Awards will bring together over 200 professionals across the entertainment, mobile and Internet industries at an invitation-only ceremony, on the opening night of MIPTV 2010.
