Abbe Raven, Chairman A+E Networks, to join the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Executive Committee
NEW YORK, December 18, 2013 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today that Abbe Raven, Chairman A+E Networks was appointed as Executive Committee Member by International Academy President & CEO, Bruce L. Paisner.
“We’re delighted to have Abbe Raven join our Executive Committee,” said Paisner. “She brings great knowledge and experience to the table and will provide valuable guidance for the Academy.”
Abbe Raven is Chairman, A+E Networks, encompassing A&E®, Lifetime®, HISTORY®, LMN®, bio.®, H2™, HISTORY en Español™, Crime & Investigation Network®, Military HISTORY®, LRW™, as well as A&E IndieFilms®, A+E Networks International®, A+E Networks Digital® and A+E Networks Consumer Products®. Elevated to this newly created position in April 2013, Ms. Raven serves as strategic corporate business advisor, spearheading long-term business and revenue strategy as well as initiating public policy efforts.
Prior to this position, Raven led A+E Networks as President and Chief Executive Officer, tripling its earnings and expanding its global portfolio since March 2005. She also oversaw the company’s strategic merger with Lifetime Television in 2009. Under Raven’s leadership, A+E Networks’ channels and branded programming have grown to reach more than 350 million households in over 150 countries. During her tenure at A+E Networks, Raven has been honored for building some of the most prominent and highly valued cable networks and for standing at the forefront of numerous industry-wide initiatives.
Raven has been a Director on the Academy’s Board since June 2005. Her term as Executive Committee Member starts January 1, 2014.
