NEW YORK, November 22, 2021 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the 49th International Emmy® Awards tonight at an in-person Black-Tie Gala event in New York City. The Gala was attended by television professionals from around the world and hosted by actress and comedian Yvonne Orji at the Great Hall of Casa Cipriani.
 
“We are delighted to be able to gather the global television community, in-person again, in New York to celebrate the world’s best television.” said International Academy President & CEO Bruce Paisner. “The diversity and geographic spread of tonight’s winners demonstrate once again the universal power of great storytelling and performances.”
 
1 Special Award and 11 Emmy® statues were presented by the International Academy during the evening.
 
Former NBA Player and NBA Champion with the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki presented the International Emmy® Directorate Award to Dr. Thomas Bellut, Director General of German public broadcaster ZDF, one of Europe’s major and most renowned broadcasters.
 
The 11 winning International Emmy® programs and performances span 8 countries: France, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, PR China, Thailand, the UK and the US. They are: Kubrick by Kubrick (Arts Programming), David Tennant (Best Performance by an Actor), Hayley Squires (Best Performance by an Actress), Call my Agent ! – Season 4 (Comedy), Hope Frozen: A Quest to Live Twice (Documentary), Tehran (Drama Series), 21st Annual Latin Grammy Awards® (Non-English Language US Primetime Program), The Masked Singer (Non-Scripted Entertainment), INSiDE (Short-Form Series), The Song of Glory (Telenovela) and Atlantic Crossing (TV Movie/Mini-Series). YVONNE ORJI TO HOST IN-PERSON INTERNATIONAL EMMY® AWARDS ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, IN NEW YORK CITY

DIRK NOWITZKI TO PRESENT INTERNATIONAL EMMY® DIRECTORATE AWARD

 
 
New York, November 12, 2021 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced its host & presenter line-up.

 
Emmy® nominated Nigerian American actress and comedian Yvonne Orji, co-star of Insecure and host of Prime Video’s second Yearly Departed comedy special in December, will host the 49th International Emmy® Awards on Monday, November 22nd in New York City, at the sold-out Great Hall of Casa Cipriani, in front of an in-person audience of international and US industry guests.
 
Orji is known for her 1-hour Stand-Up Special and performance as Issa Rae’s best friend and fan favorite, “Molly” on the HBO comedy series, Insecure which garnered her an Emmy® Nomination for best supporting actress. Her 1 Hour Stand-Up Special, Momma, I Made It was shot in the two places Yvonne called home while growing up, Washington DC and Nigeria. Prior to the taping, she embarked on a domestic tour which included sold out shows in New York and Los Angeles. She has opened for Chris Rock in a number of venues across the country including Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center. Her debut book, Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me into the Life of My Dreams, was released in spring of 2020. In addition to Yvonne’s work on camera, she is executive producing an autobiographical comedy entitled First Gen which is currently in development at Disney+.
 
Yearly Departed will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on December 23 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Orji hosts the second edition of this comedy special bringing together a roster of all female comics to roast the year.
 
The International Emmy® Directorate Award will be presented to Thomas Bellut, Director General, ZDF German Television by twelve-time NBA All-Star and 2011 NBA Champion with the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki.
 
Orji and Nowitzki will be joined by a cast of presenters including: Vanessa Williams, Aidan Quinn, Brian d’Arcy James, Method Man, Piper Perabo, Emeraude Toubia, Wilson Cruz, Felipe Santana and Angélica.
 
The International Academy is following Covid-19 safety precautions for the International Emmy® Awards ceremony. All attendees will need to show proof of vaccination and a negative test to access the event.
