ANKE SCHÄFERKORDT, CEO MEDIENGRUPPE RTL DEUTSCHLAND & CO-CEO RTL GROUP, TO RECEIVE 2013 INTERNATIONAL EMMY® DIRECTORATE AWARD

New York, July 18, 2013 – Anke Schäferkordt, Chief Executive Officer of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and Co-CEO of RTL Group – the leading European entertainment network and one of the world’s largest production companies – will receive the 2013 International Emmy Directorate Award at the 41st International Emmy Awards on Monday, November 25th in New York City.

Her passion for programming, combined with a long-view strategic approach, make her an outstanding leader in the international TV industry. Anke Schäferkordt joined the market-leading German commercial broadcaster RTL Television in 1991, rising through the company’s ranks to become CEO of RTL Television as well as CEO of the Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland in 2005. Since April 2012, she has been Co-CEO of RTL Group. In this capacity, she still retains her role as CEO of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and also sits on the Executive Board of Bertelsmann, RTL Group’s majority shareholder.
